Biones announces its first installation of Orwell 2k Traffic - the first product of its kind. Orwell 2k Traffic installation was completed December 26; the same day Orwell 2k captured 72% of traffic violations, issuing tickets for 46% of them providing the city a full reimbursement of the system's cost (installation and operation). The captured violations had enough detail for court approval. 3 weeks later the city ordered system expansion.

Orwell 2k Traffic system identifies the following traffic violations together with violator's vehicle license plate.

Each of the above mentioned situations is identified with higher accuracy than traditional speeding and red-light camera systems.

Orwell 2k systems equip the user with essential instruments for investigation or real-time response, in this case - to traffic violations. The operator decides whether the violator should be ticketed or not. Human input is important for deciding whether to ticket or not due to AI imperfection, a false alarm rate of about 4%.

The violations are set by system administrator to define which violations apply to which cameras and camera areas.

Evolution


Future expansion of the system will include additional Orwell 2k Traffic systems integrated with Orwell 2k LPR and Orwell 2k City (6-12 months pending). The system will continue to generate money through detection of traffic violations, and will additionally identify potential threats on the city streets. Objects left behind, vandalism etc. will be detected and alarmed on. Investigations of on street crimes will be simplified because of detailed images of events and targets (people, vehicles, etc.), and an easily searchable archive.
